Alike Mengusovce we may find this small village in a beautiful area under the High Tatras mountains approximately 8 km north from Poprad. Local archeological resources proof that the village has been settled even in the Young Stone Age. The fisrt written reference about establisment of Nova Lesna are from 1315. The first settlers had worked in agriculture, hunting or in flax processing, but even since 19th century they has worked in turism (as a tourist quide etc.). Today´s visitors can find a Roman Catholic church from 13rd century, originaly built in Gothic style and lately rebuilded into classicism style.
